Paranormal investigator (I know pretty cool job title)
Like many people I have always been intrigued by the paranormal world, I remember watching so many 'ghost hunting' shows growing up, then moving onto horror movies that always claimed to be 'based on a true story'. My head would start to fill with many questions; is it all real? Should we be scared of this? And where does it all end, how far is to far to believe in someone we can't see?
As soon as I started interviewing people on this blog I knew I wanted to get into a super in depth conversation with someone who truly believes in paranormal activity, and know's a little more about it all. I searched so many different platforms to find the perfect person before coming across the 'paranormal investigator' or better known as Kristi. She defiantly seems to be more than qualified to answer my inner child questions about this crazy world. Kristi is also a Psychic medium and a fellow blogger, were she blogs about her own experiences with ghost's and talks a lot about her paranormal journey. Anyways! Lets get started with the questions, I hope you guys enjoy this post and don't forget to comment below your thoughts on this interview!
1. Do you remember the moment you knew you were 'different' and what was that like when you realised? .
Looking back on my life, I feel like I always knew I was different from most people, even when I was trying my hardest not to be. I learned from an early age, mostly because I had 4 older sisters who reminded me often, that it was not easy to be different and stand out. As a child I always knew things that I shouldn't, mostly about people and what was going on in their lives as well as upcoming moments. I was always able to "read" people and basically see through that outer persona that almost all of us present to the world in one way or another. While this may sound like a good thing, it was awkward, uncomfortable and down right contentious at times. Being able to see people that others could not was a lot the same way. Although as a young child this could be explained away by having a highly active imagination or imaginary friends, as I got older these explanations became less believable. So I learned to blend in and to keep many of my abilities to myself for a long time.
2. What's it like being able to see someone else's path, and do you see it a good thing or a bad thing?
Great question! It makes relationships with other people difficult at times for sure. While having the ability to tap into other people and offer them guidance or spiritual insight when they are requesting it can be an amazing thing for them and for me, obtaining this insight unsolicited on my part about people makes me uncomfortable. I have learned through the years to be able to keep this ability tampered down unless I am being asked or the spiritual guidance I am receiving directly affects me in some way. For many years, developing new relationships with people or stepping outside my comfort zone with strangers was incredibly difficult specifically because of this insight. Having this ability is at times a gift and a wonderful thing, especially when I am able to offer guidance or healing information to someone in need; however, it can be a burden if not channeled properly.
3. What do you say to people who are non believers?
I say love and light to you! Although I encourage everyone to work on their spiritual side, I do know and understand that "believing" is not for everyone at this point in their lives and there are many reasons why. The simplest explanation I offer to people, when asked, is to think about when you are sitting in your car and you feel someone looking at you from another car. This is an actual thing that all of us have experienced at one time or another. This is a straightforward example of utilizing your extra senses. You didn't see this person with your eyes, they didn't touch you, you didn't hear them or smell them. You felt their energy shift and affect your own. This is a transfer of energy, which we are all made up of. Communicating with Spirit is very similar. It is energy communicating and affecting other energy. Scientifically, we do know that energy can not be created or destroyed. When we pass on, our energy is no longer contained within our physical bodies and we are free to "look" at you no matter where we are.
4. Have you ever done a reading for someone and been scared to tell them the truth?
Honestly, yes. I am not a psychic medium professionally so I do not give readings daily. I will only provide people with readings that are in need and recommended to me from someone I know. I actually work in the analytical and finance field and have for 20 years. This means that reading for people has not become routine for me and often takes me out of my comfort zone. At times, information being relayed through me or some of the things I see or feel absolutely sends my analytical mind into hiding and I can't help but feel like "What! You are not going to say this to this person are you?". But I always strive to be 100% authentic, no matter what, and that means relaying or passing on everything and anything that I get. While the information I am getting may make me uncomfortable, it would not be offered to me if there wasn't an important reason for it to be. So with that in mind, I always attempt to separate myself from the readings I give and relay all information 100% authentically.
5. Are reading's mentally exhausting for you?
There is no thinking involved at all. Actually, it is very much the opposite. When connecting, it is very important to do so Spiritually and not think about it. Messages I receive, communication given are for the person I am reading for and have little to nothing to do with me or my thoughts. If I was to stop and think about these messages, or attempt to analyze and interpret them, the messages would be from my perspective and based on my interpretation. I would inevitably lose the authenticity I strive to achieve. Readings can be emotionally and spiritually exhausting however. The communication is a transfer of energy, from Spirit and through me. I will feel the emotions of both Spirit and the client. I use a lot of my own energy as well. Although I have gotten much better at keeping control of my emotional and spiritual state while giving readings, there are still times that I am left worn down and exhausted.
Interesting question and one that I actually spent a lot of time pondering myself in the past. I believe that there is absolutely life in different vibrational plains and dimensions and that this life does not look or feel anything like "life" as we know it. Is this considered outside of Earth, however? From my perspective, I don't think so. As for the understood concept of aliens - life that exists on another planet - from a Spiritual perspective I honestly can say I don't know. However, from an analytical perspective, I think we are naïve or arrogant to believe that out of the billions of stars and various universes, Earth is the only one that has some form of "life" on it. This obviously is a topic that I am on the fence about.
7. Why do you think some people have this gift to interact with paranormal life and others can't?
I actually believe that everyone is born with their spiritual side developed but as we grow and are taught to trust what we actually see and feel, we begin to shut it down and turn away from it. I also believe that anyone can get back in touch with their spiritual side and communicate in some way - similar to how some people are musically inclined and some are not. There are children that are documented prodigies from a young age at playing the piano despite never having lessons or any family members that can play. However, I get confused just looking at a piano. But even I was able to bang out a simple tune in the past. All of us at some point in our life has had a gut instinct or a scenario where our intuition was telling us to do or not do something. This is Spiritual guidance directing us on our path and is available to everyone. Those that listen more to it and pay attention to it become more in tune to it's subtle influence in their lives.
8. Should we be scared of paranormal activity?
99% of the time, absolutely not. As a living person, our energy and vibrations are higher and stronger than a Spirit trying to get our attention through various activity. This means that we are stronger and protected. As a paranormal investigator with a volunteer group, as well as a medium, I have encountered hundreds of people experiencing activity in some way. It can be very scary and unsettling because it is unknown and unexpected to us. However, in most of these cases the activity is a Spirit or deceased person trying to make contact or pass along a message in some way. Once we empower the client to take control of the situation, to stand up for themselves and their homes and maybe give the Spirit an appropriate means of communicating, the issues resolve. With that being said, there are some cases that are not straightforward and do involve Spiritual energy that could be life altering or even dangerous. I think that with all the public interest in paranormal activity in today's world, less and less are afraid of it but I would still advise people to be careful and not try to engage Spirits without the proper protections in place or adequate knowledge and understanding of what to do. Although the chances are small to engage or attract something truly negative, that possibility does exist.
